The Saudi Vision 2030 necessitated substantial developments across economic, political, and social sectors, thereby requiring the modernization of legislative frameworks and enhancement of the judicial system through the qualification of legal professionals and the promotion of scientific research to enrich legal knowledge and stay abreast of national and international developments. Consequently, the University Affairs Council issued Decision No. (2/16/45), approving a comprehensive academic restructuring for (24) universities governed by the Higher Education and Universities Council system, promulgated by Royal Decree No. (M/8), dated 4/6/1414 AH, in accordance with the restructuring guidelines attached to the decision for each university. This decision was communicated to the universities by the Circular of the Secretary-General of the University Affairs Council, No. (4500305258), dated 12/3/1445 AH, and included restructuring King Khalid University, notably converting the Department of Law within the College of Business into an independent College of Law, comprising two academic departments: the Department of Private Law and the Department of Public Law.
