Academic Biography
Mahmoud Abdelgawwad Abdelhady is a Professor of Private Law at the College of Law, King Khalid University, Saudi Arabia. He received his PhD in Private Law from the Faculty of Law, Assiut University, in 2015, and his master's degree in law from the Faculty of Law, Helwan University. His research interests focus on private law, civil liability, artificial intelligence and law, digital governance, data protection and privacy, contracts and emerging technologies, smart and autonomous transport, air and maritime transport law, environmental law and sustainability, investment law, arbitration, and dispute resolution.
He has published extensively in international journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus, including journals with highly prestigious global rankings. His publications include research appearing in Web of Science Q1 – Top 1% and Web of Science Q1 – Top 10% journals, in addition to several articles published in Q1 and Q2 journals and other internationally indexed outlets. His research addresses contemporary legal issues related to sustainable technologies, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, renewable energy, environmental protection, investment, privacy, and data protection.
He also has substantial experience in research leadership and collaborative research, including leading and contributing to several research groups and initiatives. He has received a number of research grants across different research tracks, in addition to publication incentive awards for research published in classified and indexed journals. He has also contributed to establishing international research partnerships and collaborations that have supported joint research projects and expanded academic and scientific cooperation.
